What is a windscreen?
A windscreen is two pieces of glass with a plastic layer (P.V.D) between the two. The P.V.D holds the two together.
What is a stone chip?
A stone chip is an air pocket caused when the outer layer is punctured, creating an air pocket between the P.V.D and the outer layer of the glass.
What we do when we repair?
- Remove dirt / Loose debris.
- Drill to create access to air pocket (If necessary)
- Inject a special resin, replacing the air in the pocket.
The resin is the UV cured, bonding it to the windscreen.
